What is it about?

High viscosity bone cement can significantly redce the rate of bone cement leak during vertebral augmentation in patients with osteoporotic fractures specially if the t-score (a tool to measure the severity of osteoporosis) is lower than 2. This will increase the safty of this procedure.

Why is it important?

Cement leak is the most common problem in this trchnique, and with its reduction we can reach a good result with lower complication rates

Perspectives

This work is a step in the direction to increase the safty of a very common procedure
