Why is it important?
The risk of a home accident among the elderly people an important public health problem that has a negative effect on them and their families.
Perspectives
This study showed that home accidents are an important public health problem for the elderly people living in Mersin. It was found that one out of 10 elderly people living in Mersin city center had at least one home accident. Most of the accidents are preventable through increased awareness and improvements in the home environment.
