Blackness as Burden? The Lived Experience of Black Africans in Australia

What is it about?

This paper is about the lived realities of Black Africans in Australia. We show that many black Africans in Australia experience their bodies as a symbolic burden due to the stereotyping and social exclusions that comes with being racialised as black within a predominantly white Australian context.
