Graphic organizers are shown to be very effective in enhancing ESL students' understanding of literatutre texts using students taught with GOs and students taught without GOs.

Why is it important?
Graphic organizers are fast becoming acceptable standard instructional tools across subjects. This study validates their usefulness in teaching prose fiction among ESL students.
Perspectives
We hope the study offers teachers in ESL classrooms an alternative means of enhancing their students comprehension of literary prose-fiction.
