What is it about?
Training is an important ingredient in teachers' performance. It is expected that teacher training is positively correlated to students' performance. Unfortunately many trained teachers are ineffective. This paper looks at the characteristics of trained teachers that may make them ineffective in teaching Kenyan secondary school students.

Why is it important?
The results of this study are important because they point out to characteristics that persist in teachers even after training which may negatively affect students' performance. This is critical because unlike self administered reports, this study looks at these characteristics from the students' lens.
