What is it about?

This article describes the different steps of a new research method. The method allows to find out more about policy networks in the European Union from the perspective of individual network members. When using this method, we can better understand personal networks and why the members think they are important for policy-making.

Why is it important?

Policy networks are important for all political decisions taken in the European Union. The method described starts from the individual standpoint and personal experiences of the interview persons and that is normally not done when analysing policy networks.

Perspectives

This article is the result of a very long testing of the method. I hope it is of value to others who want to explore policy networks and want to try out a new method.
