What is it about?

This study looked to see if by doing a more extensive lymph node removal at the time of keyhole prostate cancer surgery more cancerous lymph nodes could be detected and removed.

Why is it important?

This study shoes that spread of prostate cancer to the lymph nodes is much commoner than previously appreciated.

Perspectives

It is hoped that by removing involved nodes the patients' prognosis will also be improved and this is the subject of ongoing research.
