What is it about?

RHT material model is used for the prediction of concrete behaviour under severe loading, such as blast and impact. In the RHT model, parameters are adjusted to be function of the compressive strength of a specific concrete. This study is an attempt to calibrate this model, with least number of possible changes, to better predict the performance of concrete targets, particularly spalling and scabbing phenomena, impacted by hard projectiles.

Why is it important?

It is shown that the calibration of RHT material model performed well when compared to the default settings currently available in the model.

Perspectives

Further calibration of the RHT material model is needed.
