What is it about?
People who feel socially rejected show antisocial behavior but at other times prosocial behavior. What determines the type of behavior? A past theory suggested that the chances of fulfilling belonging after rejection determines antisocial vs. prosocial responses. This research tested this hypothesis. Contrary to the prediction, rejected people's responses did not differ depending on the chances of fulfilling belonging.
