What is it about?

This paper shows that high-power people and low-power people are egocentric when judging others. They tend to project their characteristics onto others, However, they differ in the type of characteristics they are projecting. High-power poeple are mainly projecting their competence, while low-power people are mainly projecting their warmth.

Why is it important?

This is important finding as it shows that high- and low-power people judge others on dimensions that are important and relevant for themselves. For example, a high-power person with whom you interact will evaluate your competence, but a low-power person will evaluate your warmth.
