What is it about?

Novel discovery of 2 members of SERPIN superfamily of proteins as differentiation markers in human mesenchymal stem cells differentiated to cartilage using Kartogenin

Featured Image

Why is it important?

This is important because it might help to have better strategies to create cartilage in vitro using the patients own mesenchymal stem cells to treat a broad spectrum of cartilage pathologies such as osteoarthritis

Perspectives

Perspectives are very important because for the first time SERPINA9 has been implicated in cartilage development using the small molecule Kartogenin suggesting it shares TGFB signalling pathway.
