Perspectives

With guidance form my co-authors, this work was performed. Using metabolomic techniques we were able to identify changes that occurred in the absence and presence of drugs during functional pharmacological assay (an innovation in itself). It was no easy task having to handle the enormous data that resulted but it was worth it discovering new mechanisms and new pathways involved in the activity of oxytocin and ritodrine on the uterus. this study has increased current knowledge on the mechanism of oxytocin and ritodrine as we know it today.
