What is it about?
Millions of women suffer from a condition called as Endometriosis ( Growth of endometrium like tissue outside normal uterine cavity). Majority of the women suffering from condition experience pain during menstruation, pain during sexual intercourse and are sub-fertile. The gold standard of diagnosis of this enigmatic disorder is surgery (Laparoscopy/Laparotomy). We conducted a multi centre study in India and validated the non invasive method to diagnosis endometriosis in early stages.

Diagnosis of endometriosis in early stages by non invasive means is important to prevent further progression of disease. If endometriosis is diagnosed early, the women can be treated and advised to complete the family.
Perspectives
This is a multi centre research study validating peptide ELISA for diagnosis of endometriosis. Our study is an important step towards reaching the goal of simple blood based tests for diagnosis of endometriosis.
