What is it about?
Many people think that traditional doctors play a negative role in HIV by making unrealistic claims about curing the infection. But, at their own suggestion, we have been working with traditional doctors in Botswana to use an audio-drama about gender and gender violence with groups in the community, as part of a community-based intervention for primary prevention of HIV.

No one has reported working with traditional doctors in this way before. Our work shows they can have an important role to play in health promotion.
