What is it about?

This article explains how a working group adapted an US toolkit for vessel health and preservation for use in the UK. Patients requiring vascular access in hospital is common place but the assessment for the right device is often poorly acknowledged resulting in patients having multiple inappropriate devices placed, missed doses of IV medication and a poor patient experience. The working group developed a framework to aid the assessment and decision making for the right vascular access devices for the type and duration of the patient's treatment.
