What is it about?

To find out the proper length of a toe PIP joint which gives the best arc of motion after surgery

Why is it important?

To prove the expert's experience, "shorter graft gives the best arc of motion"

Perspectives

We learned from the experts that, a shorter intercalated graft may give the best arc of motion after a vascularized toe PIP joint transfer. However, this comments were not proved before. We tried to use a cadaveric study to test it. Although it could not totally mimic the clinical condition. Nonetheless, it helped us to answer one question, the length does matter.
