Why is it important?
At present, there is a growing body of research being conducted on the sleep of elite athletes, particularly in regard to the amount of sleep athletes obtain and the stressors that affect their sleep. Yet, there seems to be an oversight in the amount and quality of sleep coaches obtain. After all, coaches are responsible for the training and ultimately the performance of their athletes. Considering the role sleep serves towards general health and well-being, it is critical for coaches to monitor the amount and quality of sleep they obtain.
