What is it about?
Very few simple models exist that describe and help provide intuitive understanding of the factors which affect moisture transfer in an energy recovery ventilator. This paper provides such a model and estimates of the material properties for the membrane that does the heat and moisture transfer work. The model was tested with real world measurements.

Why is it important?
If you need to predict how an energy recovery ventilator will work, this model can provide both insight and a calculation method for moisture transfer. Such insight is also useful for designing improvements to energy recovery ventilators.
