What is it about?
The article reports on the re conceptualising of the head teacher in England to a new and emerging position -that of a Chief executive. It traces the work of the a chief executive in an educational setting. the article is part of a larger project which is ethnographic in approach and provides empirical evidence based on a year long association with the CEO. The article provides a typology of the various practices undertaken by the CEO. . It locates the CEO in a complex structure of multi academy trust. I argue that the CEO operates at different levels and in different spaces which I conceive as 'the street'
