What is it about?

Mini intracranial stents have been recently introduced for cerebral aneurysm embolization. We examined the angiographic and clinical results of endovascular aneurysm treatment with the first open cell mini intracranial stent: the Neuroform Atlas stent.

Why is it important?

We have shown that this stent conforms to the cerebral arterial anatomy even in distal arteries and it appears safe and effective.

Perspectives

This article will help other practitioners understand that necessities for stenting in distal intracranial may be quite different than the proximal arterial segments.
