What is it about?

High cholesterol levels contribute to the development of heart attacks and stroke. Cholesterol levels can be effectively managed with drugs, but these drugs are all associated with a whole range of side-effects. This article gives an example of how changing a diet and adding moderate exercise to a persons routine, has the potential to lower cholesterol without the use of these drugs.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that following a healthy fat diet, containing healthy fats such as almonds, omegas and avocado, together with moderate exercise (only twice a week for 30 minutes), has the potential to naturally lower cholesterol levels to within normal ranges. Furthermore, the article provides specific examples regarding the different food choices.

Perspectives

Having a family history of high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease, this article was a very personal endeavor. It directly shows how better lifestyle choices can contribute to living a healthier and happier life. If this article can inspire someone to make this much needed change, it has served its purpose.
