What is it about?
This was a cross-sectional survey where we contacted first authors of the papers published in the Indian biomedical journals. We requested them to fill a questionnaire which had questions regarding authorship practices.

This paper gives us an idea of the prevalence of honorary authorship practices in India. Also, reveals the factors which made researchers include an honorary author in their published paper.
Perspectives
Honorary authorship is prevalent in India. Increasing the awareness of honorary authorship in India is very vital as some people still believe in the concept of "sharing is caring".
