What is it about?

This is the foundational paper for the core ideas behind team cognitive work analysis in the first two analysis phases (Work Domain Analysis and Control Task Analysis). The next two stages are covered in a working paper, see my researchgate.

Why is it important?

This is the first paper where we began to work out these ideas. If understanding how to analyze team work with Cognitive Work Analysis is something you are trying to do, you need to check this paper.

Perspectives

This came from the Ph.D. work of Maryam Ashoori. I had realized that team work was not described as usefully in CWA as it needed to be, in order to reflect the kinds of issues we usually look at when trying to design for teams. Maryam took it from there and her visualization of the situation was critical to building these models.
