Why is it important?

From a theological perspective it reflects the meaning of "Blessing" as described in Myron Madden's 1970 "The Power to Bless." Both the need for blessing as a part of healing our brokeness and who has the authority to bless?

Perspectives

This story also describes how we pastoral caregivers struggle with our own brokeness and need for healing.
