Secure Communities and Immigration Enforcement

What is it about?

Although how state and local governments approach immigration enforcement is typically linked to their political ideology, the implementation of the federal Secure Communities program appears to be financially motivated. This paper demonstrates that we need to reconsider how the federal government motivates local compliance and the implication of federal tactics for the incorporation of immigrants into their new communities.
