It shows that the cuff construction may have an impact on the blood pressure measurement. The results depict that the pressure transfer underneath a particular cuff is a function of the mechanical and geometric properties of the fabric used for its construction. It is also found that the pressure distribuction underneath a cuff can be predicted using mathematical modelling and it is another step towards the correct estimation of blood pressure using inflatable cuffs.
