What is it about?

Vocabulary is an important goal for speech-language pathologists to target. This paper reports the results of a national survey of speech-language pathologists. The survey included questions about service delivery, goal strategies, treatment techniques, materials and activities.

Why is it important?

The survey shows what clinicians view as helpful and successful techniques, and also highlights ways that vocabulary intervention may be improved.

Perspectives

I intended for this article to highlight to the expertise of clinicians, which is sometimes at odds with external scientific evidence. I believe that the survey points to areas that require more research and/or discussion.
