Why is it important?
The letter of 1 Corinthians is one of the most discussed texts of the New Testament today, but there is little agreement on its theme or structure. However, there have been numerous recent proposals. This papers gathers them together so that they can be evaluated.
Perspectives
I include my own views on the letter's theme and structure - which have been published elsewhere - but in this article I try to let these views sit alongside others without giving them special privilege. This should be a useful overview for all those interested in scholarly views of the letter.
