Why is it important?

This article is important because big societal challenges require a more active role of universities in the transformation of territories. For university to play this role alternative research approaches to those that are nowadays mainstream are necessary. Action research can be one of those alternative research approaches.

Perspectives

The writing process of this article required going deep into the conflicts that I faced within my own organization. Doing so helped me understand conflict as a natural situation when trying to transform university and society and I hope my experience will be useful for others facing similar challenges.
