Why is it important?

To survive a cardiac arrest is a very close encounter with death. To find what survivors find important in their care after the event is important so we can plan accordingly.

Perspectives

While searching for papers for a literature review looking at survivors of cardiac arrest I found many quantitative papers examining the CA survivors experience with questionnaires (often the same questionnaires that are used for many other illnesses). My thoughts are that if you have had such a close encounter with death you will probably have more to say than what can be found in a questionnaire, hence I decided to have a closer look at the qualitative papers.
