What is it about?

Sharing the experience of being a descendent as well as sharing a common foreign ethnic background might be an important factor in spouse choice decisions of those native born individuals with foreign born parents. Education is another important factor that usually plays a role in such decisions. Thus, looking at how these two mechanisms interact with each other at the individual but also at the group level contributes to our understanding of current and future trends regarding social and family structures in destination countries.
