What is it about?

Compression ignition engine has potential for high thermal efficiency and low emissions. But it has big issue such as combustion control. The technology on this paper make it possible to control the ignition and combustion. Specifically, appropriate ignition and combustion can be achieved by dual-fuel supply system and controlling the valve lift timing.

Why is it important?

By controlling the chemical reaction in the engine cylinder, it is possible to cause appropriate combustion. As a result, improving thermal efficiency and fuel economy yields significant profit for all-user.

Perspectives

It is a technical advantage that it is possible to achieve extremely high thermal efficiency combustion using gasoline and diesel fuel that are already distributed around the world.
