What is it about?
This study is about the change in a specific molecule "leptin" in the gingival crevicular fluid during the orthodontic tooth movement. After the removal of 1st premolar tooth of both sides for the orthodontic purpose; tooth movement was done using two different mechanics.

Why is it important?
Leptin is a specific hormone which has both central and local action on the body. So, with the tooth movement, the leptin level changes and this change is not measured yet in any previous studies.
Perspectives
My own opinion regarding this study is that it is a unique study and by this, we can easily predict the time duration for a specific amount of tooth movement when we know the amount of leptin in GCF.
