Why is it important?

It is important because 'choice' is often used as a means of covering all possible actions a feminist makes and affirming each one. This does not pay attention to the potential to uphold unequal gender relations by following the status quo; instead 'choice' hides this and even shuts down conversation. This article seeks to address this issue and asks what contemporary feminist can do about it.
