What is it about?

This article is about the Anthropocene, the newly recognised geological age, in which humans ('anthropos') have come to dominate natural processes (e.g. contributing to global warming and climate change), and the place and role of humans in this new period that is now just beginning.

Why is it important?

The importance of topic is its bearing on the future of nature and the survival of humans as a part of and a force operating for good or ill in nature

Perspectives

My perspective in exploring this topic is calculated to direct the focus to human agency or the kinds of orientations and action that we can take to establish an adequate relation to nature and to secure the survival of life on earth - on the assumption that we already have the necessary capacities, but now need to integrate them fluidly in a way lacking heretofore.
