In this article, through the analytical use of the word ‘fetish’, we allow alterity to emerge ‘within’ trivial and taken-for-granted practices that take place in the UK.

Perspectives

This article discusses the multiple and autonomous nature of objects, their complex biographies and their power and impact on people's routines and practices. It intends to challenge theoretical perspectives that take the object as a passive container for human action.
