Why is it important?

It is important to understand how global governance will be affected by the rise of new major powers. This article argues that it is global governance's most liberal content, rather than international regimes themselves, which are challenged by contemporary rising powers. It also provides an alternative theoretical perspective to realist and liberal approaches to rising powers.

Perspectives

The article could be useful for readers interested in global governance, the BRICS, and historical materialism and Varieties of Capitalism approaches.
