What is it about?
In Brazil, a very unusual and anti-establishment form to organize recycling, based on cooperatives of waste collectors, became consecrated. The paper tells the story of how did it came to be, associating the diffusion of these practices with the structural inequality of Brazilian society and the convergence in the dynamic of several social domains.

Why is it important?
The paper contributes to institutional theory in the sociology of organizations and to economic sociology arguing that account of multiple fields may provide better and more detailed explanations than building the object of research as a single field. It also defends that organizational and economic sociologists should pay more attention to the effects of broad class structures in the dynamic of field formation.
Perspectives
The research is part of my PhD research, finished in 2016. It is probably one of the most important and interesting parts of my thesis and I am very happy it was published in Organization & Environment.
