Military Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Awareness Training for Health Care Providers Within the Military Health System

This is a very important issue, particularly in the military as the LGBT health needs weren't necessarily taken into consideration until the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." This policy created significant barriers military members that are part of the LGBT community in evidence-informed care to meet their healthcare needs. This article hopefully begins some discussion and provides some awareness to healthcare personnel about things to consider when caring this underserved population.
