What is it about?
A family-based intervention in a Guatemalan Maya community, that included healing and empowerment workshops and therapy for survivors, reduced violence against women in families and the community. Participants also endorsed more gender equality and reported more emotional regulation following the intervention.

This is important because gender-based violence is a critical issue in Guatemala and around the world. We need to find culturally-based interventions to reduce violence against women.
