Why is it important?
As African countries seek to achieve sustainable development, use of research evidence in policy making is more important now than ever. In the face of limited resources, it is critical that policy decisions are evidence-informed to ensure they are a right fit for the policy problem at hand. While evidence is not the only factor that influences policy making, it is critical for the evidence at hand to be considered in order for lasting solutions to be arrived at.
