What is it about?

A rare benign tumor that can be found between the hepar and the small intestine, in the so called extra hepatic biliary tree. This tumor resembles other benign tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and caution is required for a well differentiated adenocarcinoma can be mistaken for a pyloric gland adenoma.

Why is it important?

Tubular pyloric gland adenoma was never seen before in the bifurcation of the right and left hepatic ducts. Along with that, pathologists should be aware of that lesion because a well differentiated adenocarcinoma may resemble this benign lesion.
