What is it about?
In multilingual families, parents and children can have a different sense of identity and belonging, which can lead to frustration, arguments, and, on occasion, mental health concerns. This article shows how a metaphor can be used to help family members to communicate their feelings and thoughts about identity and belonging.

This article is the culmination of many conversations with families - when I present my work, "Great Aunt Edna's Vase" always gets a lot of interest, so this article focuses on just one aspect of my work, bringing out its practical application.
