What is it about?
We argue that HR often seeks to motivate employees by pitching them into a competition eg. through forced rankings or the winner takes it all incentives. We then open the black box and show how competition can effect employees emotions and coginitions: often competition has more negative effects than positive. We then discuss how "good", truly inspiring competition would have to look like.
