What is it about?

Experimental data of operating practices of friction pair convincingly show that on the design stage of new constructions of mobile interfaces it is necessary to take into attention the cases when the cracks may arise at separate friction nodes (a hub). The resolving equations obtained in the paper admit at the given function of displacements of the points of the external point of the hub, by means of numerical calculations, by determining the stress intensity factors to predict the crack growth existing in the hub; to establish admissible level of defectiveness and maximum values of the work loads providing sufficient safety margin. The solution of the inverse problem on definition of the function of displacements of the points of the external contour of the hub, admits on the design stage to choose optimal geometrical parameters of friction pair elements providing increase of load-bearing capacity.
