What is it about?
This article informs the rationale and process of developing the first of its kind of occupational safety and health (OSH) regulation for entertainment sector workers, including sex workers, in Cambodia.

Why is it important?
The OSH regulation enabled entertainment workers, who are mostly informal sector workers, to have same rights and protection as formal sector workers in terms of working hours, leave time, protection from violence.
Perspectives
The effective implementation of this regulation will depend on monitoring by labour inspectors and watch-dog function of trade unions, cooperation of employers and vigilance of the Ministry of Labour and Occupational Training. Non-governmental organization also has its role in raising awareness and advocating for the full implementation of this new regulation.
