Why is it important?

Work-related cultural and social experiences of academic staff are permeating the creation of overseas campuses in the aspects of teaching and learning, community of practice, ethos and development strategy of internationalization of higher education (IHE).

Perspectives

The paper explored: 1) What motivated non-Chinese academic staff to take up roles on an international branch campus (IBC) in China? 2) What have the personal experiences of these staff been concerning both social life and work environment? 3) As a member of staff in an international university working on a branch campus, how does one perceive the affiliation and dynamics between the home campus and the IBC?
