Why is it important?
The study makes the argument concrete that Bangladesh as a developing country, socio-cultural norms make women more vulnerable to the impacts of climate change as they have limited access to productive resources and participation in the public forum. The study came up with some policy implications, like, the government should come up with appropriate intervention policies to restore gender balance in asset ownership by putting an end to gender discrimination.Special attention should be given to infrastructural development. Granting credit on easy terms for women can help them cope with a sudden adverse situation.
Perspectives
The study gives insight of gendered vulnerabilities in changing climate. It urges the transposition of social norms as well as infrastructural development to reduce gender vulnerability.
