Why is it important?

Operational Research archives are seldom used to examine choices made duting the Second World War. This analysis is done in this article to show what alternatives were available to Bomber Command.

Perspectives

My engineering experience of more that 30 years was largely based on a master degree specialized in Operational Research. Turning to the studies in History, it was natural to be interested in the origins of this scientific discipline and how it supported an offensive largely aimed at civilians.
