What is it about?

This essay describes the life and work of a pioneering Scottish physician who tried to set up a medical school in Bombay in 1825. He failed due to causes beyond his control. He was of great help to Dr. Charles Morehead who successfully set up the Grant Medical College and Sir Jamsetjee Hospital in 1845.
